About the Role
Join Townsen Memorial Hospital as a Pharmacist (PRN) – Hospital, Texas in United States. Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a Pharmacist to join our team! Responsible for the dispensing and procurement of medicinal products and supplies used in the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles and procedures and the laws and regulations pertaining to the receipt, storage, and dispensation of drugs.
- Skill in the operation of pharmaceutical equipment and in the use of a computer and applicable software.
- Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
- Registered Pharmacist in the State of Texas; License must remain active and unencumbered while employed
Requirements
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies
- Develops hospital staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and health care professionals
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspection
- Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory
