This position qualifies for federal student loan forgiveness. After 10 years of qualifying payments while working full-time for a nonprofit employer, the remaining balance on your Direct Loans may be forgiven.

About the Role

Join UPMC as a Social Worker – Outpatient Oncology – No Evenings/Weekends in United States. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of oncology patients? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker, MSW to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Coordination: Assist patients with transportation, financial aid, emotional support, and food resources.

Foundation Assistance: Work with various foundations and organizations to secure financial help for patients, including applications for aid and managing outstanding bills.

Direct Patient Interaction: Conduct hands-on meetings with patients, addressing their needs and concerns.

Medical Assistance: Collaborate with the financial department to help patients obtain secondary medical assistance.

Requirements

/ coverage for post-acute care services and the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of the patient to obtain authorizations for continued care as appropriate.

Continue to monitor and evaluate the plan of care, options and available services throughout the hospital stay to effectively meet the patient and family's need.

Reassess the plan of care as status changes or at a minimum of every 3 days.

Full-Time position.

Day shift only - no nights.
