This position qualifies for federal student loan forgiveness. After 10 years of qualifying payments while working full-time for a nonprofit employer, the remaining balance on your Direct Loans may be forgiven.

About the Role

Join UPMC as a Social Worker – Outpatient Oncology – No Evenings/Weekends in United States. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of oncology patients? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker, MSW to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Coordination: Assist patients with transportation, financial aid, emotional support, and food resources.
  • Foundation Assistance: Work with various foundations and organizations to secure financial help for patients, including applications for aid and managing outstanding bills.
  • Direct Patient Interaction: Conduct hands-on meetings with patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Medical Assistance: Collaborate with the financial department to help patients obtain secondary medical assistance.

Requirements

  • / coverage for post-acute care services and the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of the patient to obtain authorizations for continued care as appropriate.
  • Continue to monitor and evaluate the plan of care, options and available services throughout the hospital stay to effectively meet the patient and family's need.
  • Reassess the plan of care as status changes or at a minimum of every 3 days.
