Job Description

About the Role

The Joint Commission seeks an MD Pathologist Surveyor to conduct evaluations and consultations within the Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Program across the United States. This remote role assesses compliance with standards, documents findings, and provides recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough evaluations of laboratory services meeting accreditation criteria.
Review and interpret pre-survey information.
Interview physicians and staff to assess compliance.
Analyze performance data and clinical practice guideline adherence.
Document recommendations and non-compliance.
Consult with organizations on remedial actions.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
Board Certified in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or obtain by 12/31/28.
Five years recent clinical experience including management and oversight in pathology.
Knowledge of CLIA'88 compliance and pathology industry trends.
Ability to travel extensively including remote locations.
