The surgeon is responsible for organizing and directing the thoracic donor organ transplant recovery program, including the procurement of heart and lung grafts. They will also collaborate with medical staff to ensure quality assurance, protocol development, and compliance with federal and transplant-specific regulations.
Candidates must be Board Certified or Eligible in Thoracic Surgery and hold a valid medical license in a contiguous United States. Extensive documented experience in thoracic transplant surgery and pre/post-operative patient care for heart and lung transplants is required.
