The practitioner performs patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatments while conducting daily rounds and managing care plans. They also collaborate with the medical team to ensure quality care and handle discharge summaries and patient instructions.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and be a graduate of an accredited PA program or hold a Master's degree in a Nurse Practitioner program. Current New York State licensure, NCCPA or National Board certification, and BLS certification are required.
