Patient Care Technician - PCT

About the Role

This position functions as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) within the dialysis healthcare team. The role involves providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The setting includes multiple facilities with travel between locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup and operate hemodialysis machines.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy and report changes.
• Perform vascular access cannulation and administration of heparin as delegated.
• Document treatment parameters and patient vital signs accurately.
• Participate in infection control and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in patient education related to dialysis adequacy and disease process.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G. E. D.
• Meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements.
• Successful completion of dialysis training program.
• CPR certification.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
