About the Role
Join Vocational Instruction Project as a HIV Testing Counselor in United States. Description Conduct HIV pre/post test counseling sessions. Member of the community outreach team via mobile testing van.
Key Responsibilities
- as assigned by the Director or designee.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED with at least one (1) year of experience working in the field of HIV/AIDS.
- CASAC training, a plus Certification in HIV Pre/Post-Test Counseling, a plus.
- Knowledge about HIV/AIDS, STDs and the Risk Reduction Model.
- Computer literate and experience working with electronic medical records.
Benefits & Compensation
- Provide one to one session to orient individuals to the HIV service system, including the all-agency programs and the benefits of engaging in continuous care.
- Conduct control procedure for Rapid HIV Testing.
- Perform unscheduled interventions or other appropriate assistance with unexpected occurrences or circumstances that exceed the client’s normal range of coping strategies.
- Maintain good working relationships with all staff, clients and visitors.
