About the Role

RN – Recovery/PACU Position Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- as assigned and requested.
- Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient’s condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
- Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
- Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
- Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree); Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
