Key Responsibilities

  • This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership.
  • Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.

Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling preferred.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code preferred.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Obtains, records and documents genetic history from referred patients to prepare information about family medical background related to genetically transferable medical or developmental disabilities.
  • Prepares case history summaries for referring provider.
  • Provides counseling and obtains informed consent.
  • Coordinates specimen transfer to appropriate laboratory, monitors and reports test results to provider and patient.
