Key Responsibilities

The Weekend Evening Counselor ensures the overall safety of program participants, assists them with meals and daily living activities, and engages them in leisure activities while maintaining a respectful atmosphere. This role also involves working with participants on treatment plans, documenting progress, ensuring facility cleanliness, and running groups.

Requirements

Required qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of experience in a shelter, community residence, or inpatient setting, including experience maintaining a safe environment. Candidates should also be comfortable working with dually diagnosed individuals, those with untreated psychiatric conditions, and familiar with concepts like consumer empowerment and harm reduction.
