Essential Functions Surgical Pathology Preanalytical Tasks o Assure proper specimen collection and submission prior to accessioning.

o Assist clinicians with specimen collection questions, triage of limited samples, and esoteric testing.

o Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and/or verification of unique patient identifiers.

o Assure proper specimen handling and fixation prior to processing.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or a NAACLS accredited Pathologists’ Assistant qualification, along with certification from the ASCP BOC. A minimum of five years of experience in anatomic pathology under the supervision of a licensed, Board Certified or Board Eligible Anatomic Pathologist is required.
