Key Responsibilities
- will do… Counsel and educate the patient about their upcoming surgery and lens options Set surgery dates, including all post-surgical/treatment appointments Send necessary paperwork to authorization specialist for eligibility, benefits and authorization Confirm pre-certification from insurance carriers received prior to procedure Discuss implant options and self-pay fees including financing options Collect fees for specialty lenses Collect co-insurance or co-pays when applicable Issue refunds for cancelled surgeries Create H&P’s Send for Medical or Retinal clearance as necessary Obtain eyelid surgery authorizations Answer patient calls Send surgery operative notes, transfer of care letter, post-op form and post-op drop instructions to referring Optometrists (may be owned by Co-Man instead of Surgical Counselor) QA surgery charts What we require… High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
