Key Responsibilities

The Charge Nurse—Medical/Surgical Unit has the leadership skills, authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process.

They are an extension of the leadership team (director, manager, nursing supervisor, clinical preceptor, and/or house supervisor) and must conduct themselves as such.

Work Schedule

Full-time position.

Night or evening shifts may be required.

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing and be a Licensed Registered Nurse in New Jersey, with a minimum of one year of experience as a Staff RN in a Medical/Surgical unit. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire or transfer before providing direct patient care.
