About the Role
Join YWCA York as a Trauma Counselor – $50K, York Pennsylvania in United States. Position Summary The Trauma Counselor provides direct support to victims of sexual assault and other violent crimes. The role involves individual and group counseling, program development, and educating about the impacts of trauma and violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing individual counseling to child, adolescent, and adult victims and their significant others.
- Participate in planning, developing, and implementing various support groups and activities for children, teens, and adults.
- Respond to the agency hotline and perform intake interviews as necessary.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with other community resources, and represent our agency at local alliance and coalition meetings and events as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in counseling, psychology, or social work required.
- Minimum two years post
- graduate experience working with trauma victims preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of sexual assault and incest dynamics and appropriate interventions preferred.

Work Schedule
- Full-Time position.
- Weekend coverage may be required.
