Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive patient care through systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and in-hospital follow-up for patients in the CVICU and ICU, working collaboratively with attending physicians and an interdisciplinary team. Key duties include performing emergent procedures such as line placements, intubations, and thoracentesis, while managing patient flow and responding to unit calls.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program, preferably with a Master of Nursing, and hold a current Texas RN license and relevant specialty certification. A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in the intended practice area is required, with strong preference for experienced ICU NPs and prior Critical Care RN experience.
