Key Responsibilities
- will be considered Work allocation: rotating Grade 2 (positions situated within either Better@Home service, In-patient aged care & rehabilitation service, Acquired Brain Injury unit) Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the Northeast of Melbourne and state-wide.
- will see you: Undertaking a swallowing assessment Providing therapy as part of a goal driven rehabilitation program Mentoring/supervising a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist or Allied Health Assistant Participating in a quality activity About you To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you: Approved degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligible for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia Experience in the assessment and management of patients with a wide range of neurological and medical diagnoses Experience in the assessment and safe management of dysphagic patients with varying aetiologies Ability to identify appropriate clients who would benefit from instrumental swallowing assessment Demonstrated flexibility and independence in caseload management, in particular an ability to manage a busy and varied caseload Demonstrated initiative and openness to communicate and discuss ongoing clinical issues and decisions with other department members Our benefits Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
