Key Responsibilities
The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses and treats speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in children and adults per physician referral. This role involves establishing patient and family-centered goals and executing treatment plans to maximize independence upon discharge.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or be in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) from ASHA. Required experience includes neurological speech and language disorders in adults/children, covering conditions like aphasia, dysphagia, and head and neck cancer, along with Michigan licensure or temporary CFY license.
