Overview Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level I Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilizes crisis and /or de-escalation intervention practices, when necessary and appropriate, with clients whose behavior cannot be otherwise supported without such interventions.

• Assists in the application and removal of restraints when deemed necessary by appropriate personnel and ensures the physical and emotional health and safety of the patient when using such methods.

• Identifies patient characteristics and environmental variables that may trigger agitated behavior(s) and communicates such information to the interdisciplinary team.

• Performs observation and monitoring of assigned patients on a one-to-one basis.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent diploma.

• Experience working with the mentally ill population preferred.

• Previous hospital experience a plus.

• BLS or CPR/AED training required and accepted from only 1 organization: American Heart Association.

Benefits & Compensation

• Hourly rate: $32.72/hr.

• Full-time position.
