Key Responsibilities

  • Provide group and individual counseling sessions to general education students, as well as monitor the students’ responses to the interventions identified.
  • Develop and monitor student responses to behavior intervention plans, including providing support and consultation to general and special education teachers.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments to assist in the determination of special education services.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and communicate the results to all team members in parent

Requirements

  • Hold a master's degree in social work; exceptions apply in North Carolina and Ohio
  • Hold a valid social work license issued in the state you are applying for.
  • Candidates for positions in Michigan must have state approval as a school social worker.
  • Knowledge of special education processes and procedures is preferred.
