Key Responsibilities

• will do: The Respiratory Therapist participates in patient assessment which includes the pulmonary history, pulmonary pharmacology, complete chest examination, arterial/venous blood gas acquisition/analysis, knowledge of chest roentgenology, pulmonary function testing, patient motivation, and self-care education; elective and/or emergency endotracheal intubation and extubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation; participation in hospital/respiratory related inservices, patient/family education programs/support groups, respiratory therapy student rotations, nursing education, updates, and community service education programs.
