988 Crisis Counselor (Remote)

About the Role

Work as a 988 Crisis Counselor providing crisis intervention and emotional support via telephone. This fully remote, part-time role involves night shifts Wednesday through Sunday from 10:30pm to 2:30am PST.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer crisis calls promptly, aiming to answer 95% within 20 seconds.
• Conduct safety assessments, safety planning, and de-escalation.
• Serve as mandated reporter for abuse or neglect.
• Provide referrals and resources.
• Maintain accurate real-time documentation.
• Mentor volunteers and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older.
• High-speed internet with Ethernet connection.
• Empathy, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass background check and fingerprinting.

Benefits & Compensation

• $24.00 per hour plus $3.00 overnight differential.
