Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse performs competent nursing care utilizing the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, encompassing standards of practice like assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing a high level of care to pre and post cardiac surgery patients undergoing procedures such as bypass surgery, valve repairs/replacements, and thoracic surgery, managing 3-4 patients based on acuity.

Requirements

A minimum requirement is an Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing, along with eligibility for a Virginia RN License; new graduates are welcome and automatically enrolled in a 6-month Nurse Residency program. Preferred qualifications include a BSN or MSN, previous healthcare experience, and obtaining BLS within 90 days and ACLS within one year of hire.
