About the Role
This unpaid volunteer position supports hospice patients and families in Bennington County, Vermont. Volunteers work with BAYADA Hospice's Rutland office to provide companionship, emotional support, and assistance with various hospice-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient visits including companionship, reading, life review, and exercise.
- Legacy projects to help families remember loved ones.
- Activities at senior living facilities.
- Pet therapy if applicable.
- Virtual projects from home.
- Office projects including companionship calls and clerical help.
- Gardening program assistance.
- Bereavement support and vigil companionship.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Completion of a criminal background check as per state requirements.
- Meet all applicable state volunteer regulations.
