About the Role

Baylor College of Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for surgical critical care day shifts at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Texas. This faculty instructor position involves managing patients in the surgical and thoracic surgical ICU from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ICU patients including general surgery, transplant, vascular, cardiothoracic, and thoracic cases.
• Obtain histories and perform physical exams.
• Formulate assessments and plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Place central and midlines.
• Prescribe treatments.
• Document in EPIC EMR.
• Provide guidance to support staff and learners.
• Promote a positive team environment.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• Current Texas RN or PA license.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• No prior experience required.
