Key Responsibilities

• The Forensic Nurse Examiner provides forensic physical assessment and evidence collection to patients who are victimized by sexual assault, aged 13 and older, and interpersonal violence for all ages.

• This includes injury and photo documentation, crisis intervention and prophylactic medications with referrals as appropriate.

• is expected to provide fact testimony for judicial proceedings.

• must meet annual criteria to maintain certification (200 hours, 3 exams, 8 hours continuing education), as well as annual OSHA, PPD and Mercy mandatory.

Requirements

• Must have current Healthcare Provider Level CPR certification.

• Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
